Start at the Finish Line and Be Unstoppable

As our business grows, it becomes increasingly important to have clarity around what we want to accomplish and the life we want along the way. This sets the company’s direction, what’s needed to get there, and who needs to be in place at each stage of growth. We'll explore a framework to make this a continuous practice.

As our businesses grow, clarity becomes essential—not just about what we want to accomplish, but also about the life we want to create along the way. Too often, we get stuck in the daily “washing machine” of urgent problems and constant firefighting.

This is where hitting the pause button matters. We need to ask ourselves: What do we truly want to achieve? What should we focus on? And if we solve this problem, will it actually get us where we need to go?

Answering these questions lays the foundation for a company’s direction, identifies what’s needed to get there, and clarifies who should be in place at each stage of growth.

Drawing on years of supporting business owners, insights from her books, and keynote speaking, Kristen will share a framework to help leaders make this a continuous practice—not a one-time exercise.

Key Takeaways

  • Clarity: Begin with the end in mind - identifying your next finish line and the experience you want along the way, both professionally and personally.
  • Outcome-based leadership: Once your next finish line is clear, what must the company achieve to reach it.
  • Aligning the team to desired outcomes: Identify the key outcomes and aligning the right expertise to set them up for success.
  • Setting expectations for outcomes: Establish accountability by connecting clear expectations and measurements to the outcomes we need to achieve.
